Kennedy Hope and Healing 5K Run Schedule

8:00 AM to 9:00 AM – VIP Packet Pick-Up and Race Day Registration

9:30 AM – 5k Run Begins

10:45 AM – Awards Ceremony Begins

The USATF Certified 5K course runs through Washington Lake Park, a beautiful 400 acre park complex in Washington Twp. (Sewell), NJ.  The bucolic setting includes: rustic walking trails, a stoned covered parking area, a dog park, a skate park, a gold course, and an outdoor amphitheater.  Washington Lake Park is the perfect setting for a family outing, and the Kennedy Cancer Center 5K will appeal to the serious runner who enjoys a challenging USATF Certified Race Course and Chip Timing.

Activities for the Whole Family

Not participating in the walk?  There will be lots of fun activities to try while cheering on the walkers.  Dunk a doctor or sink a supervisor in the dunk tank! For the kids and the young at heart, we have face painting, balloon art and much more!

Chair Yoga Demonstration
Join Cindy Sporer, Exercise Specialist, as she gives a demonstration of Chair Yoga. This is an exercise that is ideal for those who find it difficult to participate in traditional yoga class due to physical limitations or joint issues. All poses are performed seated or standing, using a chair as support. Benefits include, increased muscle tone and flexibility, reduced stress and pain, and improved mood and overall sense of well-being

Mindfulness Demonstration
Sit back and relax as Mindfulness Instructor, Linda Townshend, shares a simple exercise that will help relax and reduce the stress on your body and mind. These exercises are simple and convenient and you can take what you learned and use them throughout your daily life

Warmup for Survivorship Lap
Have fun with Exercise Specialist, Cindy Sporer, while warming up to music that will energize you for our 1- Mile Survivorship Lap.

2015 Signature Survivor Art Piece
Survivors and their family will have the opportunity to celebrate their journey by taking part in creating a signature art piece that will later be displayed in the Kennedy Cancer Center.
